Hello, I’m Ron. I fix broken stuff and have a habit of needing to understand how things actually work, not just that they work.

This site is where I put that habit to use. You are here early, so some sections are still taking shape. What you can expect as this grows: plain-language explanations of technical topics, the occasional deep dive into a hobby, and a running series that starts with what electricity actually is and will build up to more advanced topics from there.

No assumed knowledge. No hand-waving. If I can’t explain it clearly, I don’t understand it well enough yet.

What I cannot create, I do not understand. — Richard Feynman

A good place to start: My first article walks through what electricity actually is, from the loose electrons in a copper wire to volts, amps, ohms, and watts, using nothing but plain language and a few animated diagrams.
